Chelsea Take Step Forward in Victor Moses Chase

English giants Chelsea are closing in on a deal with Wigan for talented forward Victor Moses.

The club have been chasing the forward-cum-winger from the start of the summer, but the Latics’ £10M asking price has been a stumbling block for the transfer.

However, Roberto Di Matteo is keen to add the Nigerian international to his squad having already captured the signatures of Marko Marin, Eden Hazard and Oscar this summer.

And according to the BBC, Moses has now edged closer to becoming a Blues player after high level talks were conducted between Chelsea and Wigan officials to reach a conclusion to the transfer saga.

However, even though there was some advancement in talks, the deal is still not complete.

After splashing the cash on the likes of Hazard and Oscar this summer, Chelsea are keen not to overpay for Moses.

However, the Latics, knowing the spending power of the Stamford Bridge outfit, have been stubborn in their demands.

It remains to be seen whether the 21-year-old’s proposed transfer to the reigning Champions League winners will be finalised before the club’s Community Shield clash with Manchester City, or whether the saga will continue to stretch until the latter days of the transfer window.
